It will allow us to prepare for your students questions and searches, purchase new materials if necessary, and it gives us time to get back to you with a list of materials we own that may be helpful to you and your students.
Remember: We can only pull books in your subject area, prepare displays, and help your students well if we have some lead time. We REALLY APPRECIATE those teachers who take the time to let us know what is happening in our community classrooms!

Seacoast Christian Home Educators Association (SCHEA) is a Christian based home school support group meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire. We currently have active members from throughout Strafford and Rockingham counties in N.H. and York County in Maine.
Seacoast Home Learners (SHL) is an inclusive, non-directed support group for homeschooling families in the seacoast area of southern Maine, NH, and northern MA. As a group we focus on our common ground of living and learning without school, while accepting that we may have a diverse array of beliefs and philosophies about education and life in general. The group is intended for homeschoolers who want to meet with other homeschoolers, and not as as an on-line support group. There are many opportunities to gather with local homeschooling families, such as weekly Park Days, spontaneous play dates and field trips, occasional adult and/or family gatherings. Also a learning coop is currently in the works for Fridays in Portsmouth. All of these are posted on the Yahoo Group. Click on this link to join SHL.
The library also has a large number of resources for teachers and homeschoolers in book format. We offer books on teaching methods, specific curriculum areas like teaching math or reading, books on benchmarks for certain ages, as well as items that describe different learning styles.
