Teacher & Homeschooling Resources
Teachers, aides, and support staff who work in any Barrington school may get a FREE library card from us even if they do not live in Barrington. This card is good for one school year (renewable yearly) and gives you full access to all of the library's books, E-Books, DVDs, audiobooks (on CD and downloadable), and Databases. This card can be obtained at the Public Library, or, you can click here print and fill out the form. The form can be sent to the Barrington Library utilizing the inter-library loan service, and your new card will be delivered the following week to the school library.

Inter-Library Loans can be done right from your home or school computer! Simply access our online card catalog Here;
log in using the My Items button, search for the items you need, and hit the reserve button included in the item's record. Please make sure you put "Deliver to BES" or "Deliver to BMS" in the messages line so we know where to deliver the items needed. You can now get materials for classroom use, your own reading, or items to share with your colleagues without ever leaving your school!
Please help us to serve your students better by using this fax sheet when you have upcoming projects. It will allow us to prepare for your students questions and searches, purchase new materials if necessary, and it gives us time to get back to you with a list of materials we own that may be helpful to you and your students.
Remember: We can only pull books in your subject area, prepare displays, and help your students well if we have some lead time. We REALLY APPRECIATE those teachers who take the time to let us know what is happening in our community classrooms!

New Hampshire Homeschooling Coalition: The NHHC welcomes all those interested in homeschooling. With over 5000 homeschooled students in New Hampshire, the statewide New Hampshire Homeschooling Coalition functions as an important source of information.
Seacoast Christian Home Educators Association (SCHEA) is a Christian based home school support group meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire. We currently have active members from throughout Strafford and Rockingham counties in N.H. and York County in Maine.
Seacoast Home Learners (SHL) is an inclusive, non-directed support group for homeschooling families in the seacoast area of southern Maine, NH, and northern MA. As a group we focus on our common ground of living and learning without school, while accepting that we may have a diverse array of beliefs and philosophies about education and life in general. The group is intended for homeschoolers who want to meet with other homeschoolers, and not as as an on-line support group. There are many opportunities to gather with local homeschooling families, such as weekly Park Days, spontaneous play dates and field trips, occasional adult and/or family gatherings. Also a learning coop is currently in the works for Fridays in Portsmouth. All of these are posted on the Yahoo Group. Click on this link to join SHL.
The library also has a large number of resources for teachers and homeschoolers in book format.  We offer books on teaching methods, specific curriculum areas like teaching math or reading, books on benchmarks for certain ages, as well as items that describe different learning styles.
